Lincoln Speeches Response

(10 pts)


Read the short Lincoln readings included in the attached file.  Highlight major quotes in each and be ready to discuss:

1. Through what lenses does Abraham Lincoln seek to interpret the Civil War and provide some sense of meaning to the conflict?  (Make sure you explain your answer.)

2. How is Lincoln suggesting that Americans should approach re-establishing the nation after the military conflict is over?

Semester Final Exam
(270 pts)

The exam for first semester is cumualtive but weighted more significantly toward Unit 6.  It consists of the following elements:
  • 30 MC Questions from Units 1-5  [60 pts]
  • 30 MC Questions from Unit 6  [60 pts]
  • 1 Short Essay (Chosen from at least two questions)  [50 pts]
  • 1 Full Essay (No choice of questions)  [100 pts]

Partial credit will be available on the Multiple Choice section.  As usual, the Unit Outline will serve as the study guide for the current content, but the study guide below will assist you with the questions from Units 1-5:
ALL LATE & MAKE-UP WORK IS DUE BY THE LAST DAY BEFORE BREAK (FRIDAY, 12/18).
